colon cancer in young people is rare unless u have a genetic disorder like familial adenomatous polyposis in which ur entire colon has polyps. in this case, u can get colon cancer as young as in ur 20's.
treatment is a colon resection (removal of ur entire colon).
anyone over 50 years old should have a colonoscopy done every 5 years, sooner if there is cause for concern.
a colonoscopy is when they insert a tube with a camera inside of it into ur rectum and it goes the length of your colon looking for any suspicious lesion.
everyone over 50 should have a guiac test (fecal occult bloob screening) every year by a doctor.
the doctor inserts a finger into ur rectum and smears it on a testing kit.
s/he then adds a drop of developing solution to the smear.
if it turns blue, that means there's blood in ur feces.
if ur young and the blood is bright red, u may have a hemorrhoid.
nothing to worry about as its just an outpouching of tissue in ur rectal area. these can be internal or external and is usually treated by a simple excision (cutting it off) with local anesthetic (numbing drug applied locally to the area affected via a shot).
as for ur tiredness, well ur losing blood and might have a mild anemia.
no biggie.
blood caries oxygen throughout ur body.
less blood means less oxygen delivered throughout ur body which means u feel tired.
ur body can replenish blood losses so dont worry, so long as u dont lose huge amounts of blood quickly, lol.Health Question & Answer
