Is 95 mg/dl a normal fasting blood glucose value?!


Question: Is 95 mg/dl a normal fasting blood glucose value.?
I gave blood after 13 hours of overnight fasting. It's believed that upto 100 mg/dl is considered normal. But, am I not too close for comfort.?Health Question & Answer

95 is excellent. 100 is the breaking point of pre-diabetes, not diabetes. 126 is the breaking point of diabetes. Everything from 100 to 126 is pre-diabetes. If you have several risk factors such as diabetes runs in your family, overweight, etc., you might want to take some minor steps to keep this score down like watching your carbs, avoid the whites (sugar, white flour, white rice, pasta, etc.). There's nothing wrong with everybody doing that, its just plain a healthier lifestyle.Health Question & Answer

if they would quit changing the level that blood sugar could be, it would be better.

20 yr ago. below 140 was good.
10 yr ago, below 130 was good
5 yr ago below 120 was good
today below 100 is normal.

95 is just fine. I've even been at 108 as a fasting blood sugar and it is still okay.....

Don't worry. 95 is a good number :).
