Then stop using it since that is making it worse.
Try Abreva or Lipactin, they really work well for healing up cold sores.

When I have a cold sore, I dab hydrogen peroxide on it with a qtip (it may sting a little bit), and then put some neosporin on it. Usually it clears it up pretty quick. Health Question & Answer
