Can a human get rabies if the animal that bit him doesn't have rabies?!

Question: Can a human get rabies if the animal that bit him doesn't have rabies.?
Answers:
No, rabies can only develop if the virus is present in the other animal. The virus particles must be injected via a bite from an infected animal. You may get tetanus if the bacteria were present in the mouth of the animal but rabies is not caused by bacteria. It's caused by specific viruses (non living infectious particles) that infect the nerve cells and use them as a ladder to get to the brain.Health Question & Answer

No, you can't get it if the animal didn't have it. Once symptoms appear though, it's too late. If there was any possibility that you were bitten by an animal that was rabid, you have to seek medical help immediately. Untreated rabies is _almost always_ fatal. In the entire history of the disease only 6 people have ever survived it once symptoms appeared. There are tests for it, but they're very sophisticated and can only be done in a medical facility.Health Question & Answer

The animal that bit you has to be rabid in order for you to get rabies. You can't get it from touching something or from the air if that's what you're asking. They don't test the human before symptoms show up, they test the animal. The vet has to examine the brain of the animal to determine if it had rabies. That's why it's so important they find the animal if it was a wild animal and not someones pet. If they can't test the animal to know for sure then they have to start the rabies shots on the person just in case it was rabid.Health Question & Answer

Do you know for sure that the animal that bit you does not have rabies.? How severe was the bite, and was the bite unprovoked otherwise.? (was it a out of nowhere bite, or was it play bite, did you bother the animal, etc.)
(As in a domestic, vaccinated animal) That is the reason for the quarantine period if it is a domestic animal.
If a wild animal bites you, then you must have the vaccine series (unless that animal is available for testing).
