Question: Bacterial vaginitis/ vaginitis.?
i had bv a couple weeks ago and now i think i have developed vaginitis. i still have some metro-gel left from the bv. would the metro-gel help me.? i am in a lot of pain and need relief!Health Question & Answer

I think you mean that you had bacterial vaginosis -
if this was the case, and you have had a recurrence, then yes, topical, intravaginal metronidazole gel is just as effective as any oral therapy. Usual treatment duration is 5 days.
Be aware that there are many other types of vaginITIS -- so if you believe that there is a problem now that is different from your vaginOSIS syndrome, then it's really better to see your doctor for an examination and further recommendations. There are just too many possiblities for anyone to instruct you over the internet. You would need an adequate history and examination.
In particular, your complaint of PAIN worries me. Bacterial vaginosis usually has no real symptoms other than thin watery grey discharge and a fishy or foul odor - especially after sex. If you have significant pain, itching, or redness of the genitals, then something other than vaginosis is likely the cause.
