I think my boyfriend may have a brain tumor! HELP!?!

Question: I think my boyfriend may have a brain tumor! HELP!.?
My boyfriend is 21 years old, has been perfectly healthy ever since i met him about 2 years ago. Just recently he has been going to the hospital like once a month complaining about many different symptoms that I feel are all connected. The most recent being him having an anxiety attack. He picked me up from work and told me he couldn't breathe very well and he had been coughing and not being able to breathe great for the past week, but this tonight it was so much worse. He was gasping for breath every second and told me his heart was racing faster than it ever had. I brought him to the fire station and the firefighters there told us he may be having a panic/anxiety attack, I think this may have freaked him out a little bit more, cause he told me that he really couldn't breathe and wanted to be taken to the emergency room.

We got to the hospital, and in the waiting room it got so much worse. He couldn't breathe AT ALL! I'm talking like gasping and choking and almost puking to breathe. No one would help or see us they just passed it off as a panic attack. Then he told me his hands were going numb and so were his legs and he was getting dizzy, couldn't see well and felt extremely nauseous, I thought he might feel better in fresh air. When he went to go stand up he immediately collapsed and fainted. Then I was so mad that no one was doing anything that I demanded the nurses bring him to a room because I was really worried. We got into the room and they put him on high flow oxygen and every time he'd take of the mask he'd be gasping and he told me that it felt as though there was no air in the room. The nurses left us sitting there for about an hour before someone finally came back and gave him an anti anxiety medication in a strong dose which made him pass out. No doctor or nurse came back for 2 more hours!!! and when he awoke again he still could not breathe. They sent us on our way with a note that said follow up with your doctor and stop smoking.. which my boyfriend RARELY does.

The next day we went to the doctors office, and he told them what had happened and they gave him xanax and a lung antibiotic. He has been complaining of headaches to me, and says that his anxiety is getting a little better but he still doesn't feel right. He says he wakes up in the morning with a headache... and its a shooting pain like someone stabbing him through the brain. He throws up almost everyday, and wakes up and spends the whole day nauseous and trying to keep back vomit. I did a test on him that I read online about with peripheral vision. I held my fingers up and started behind his head and slowly moved them forward and he couldn't see them until they were right in front of his face! He did the same test on me and I could tell his fingers were there right when they were at my ears. I'm so worried! He also has complained of bladder problems and pain. also his sex drive has gone down significantly. We used to have sex every single day even more than once a day, now its cut down to once a week or less and it's really straining our relationship. I don't think this is just in his head though cause he has never had anxiety problems before. His behavior has also changed quite a lot. We never used to fight, or rarely and when we did it would last a few hours. Now we fight all the time, he's always angry and I have to watch what I say around him because I'm afraid it will anger him. I've been reading online and a lot of people had thought they had brain tumors but it just was anxiety, I told him we need to look into this and he says he wants to but I was just wondering if anyone else has had these symptoms and been diagnosed with something or anything like that... I just really need some answers and help with this so please write back to me I'm so very worried about him I love him so much and this whole thing has been so hard on us and I just want him to get better... He also has complained of extreme back and neck pain...

PLEASE write back! Anything will be greatly appreciated!!!Health Question & Answer

My son, at age 25, had a brain tumor, but it was diagnosed weeks after getting poked in the left testicle at work. He would call me complaining of headaches, his eyes would ache, in general, his left eye. So after seeing a urologist(dealing w/urinary/or mens other issues), having an eye appointment really changed things for us. Somehow the eye doc can see into the eye (as can a regular doc..when they come at you with the lights off and tell you to look up, for instance). That eye doc noticed some abnormalities and referred us to a well known hospital in New Hamsphire-Dartmouth. They did a couple tests there ..eeg, mri, and, the next week we got the bad news, a brain tumor. BUT he is okay, surgery was performed the next day AND the doc got it all..no after treatment. His was malignant(cancerous), but, there are benign tumors as well, so don't freak out just yet. Have your BF see an eye doc ASAP, and, all of this has to be making your bf nervous, of course! Sex is probably the last thing he wants, but be patient hon..and good job for all of your love and commitment!Health Question & Answer

ASAPHealth Question & Answer

You definately need a second opinion asap, if you are that worried. Try not to diagnose via the internet if you have no medical knowledge as this may plant incorrect thoughts in your head and in turn make your boyfriend more anxious. Work on the anxiety for now and see a different doctor or visit a differnt hospital asap. Theres is probably alot more safe info on the internet about anxiety for now. Hope he is o.k though, best wishes.Health Question & Answer

You must support your partner. This is the time to show your true love.
It is difficult to come to a conclusion in your partners case. If I was the doctor caring , I would definitely order a scan, specially because of the visual test that was done. A scan will essentially immediately rule out a problem. It is posible that your partner is also having panic attacks. But panic attacks are a diagnosis of exclusion. That is, you need to rule out other casues first.

I have had 2 brain tumors in 2 years. on the net you can find information that will help you. as for me, my moods changed to the point i told the manager of our company he was doing everything wrong. needless to say that didn't go over very well. i thought i was having sinus problems, i also started having seizures small ones i would stare with a blank look on my face. also, (now this is true) i started seeing a stick lady around my computer. i was told by one dr he had never heard of that, another said this was common for some seizures.
he will need to see a neurologist ASAP. the day i was taken to the hospital my arm became numb.
he needs to have a MRI. i hope this helped keep in touch.Health Question & Answer
