depends on the waiting list, I needed a scan on my neck a few months ago and the doc said there would be likely a waiting list, but if I wanted to opt for a private scan it would cost me six hundred pounds for a specialist etc. It rather depends how urgent your hubby seems to think this scan is. My impression is that if the doctors were worried he would have been hospitalised and it would have been done immediately! you could always go to A and E and complain about what you originally complained about and see if they do it, but that is a bit cheeky! or ask how much it would be private. Have you checked that you haven't been forgotten.? My husband is on the waiting list to see a general surgeon and we have had a letter saying that there is a waiting list... so we are waiting, how long for I do not know. A month to six weeks would be about the time I would start losing my rag. Sorry!!! Mis read your question you are after results... One week to get from the scanning place to your doctors/specialist should be maximum...Hopefully it is all clear and no action has been recomended although they should have let you knowHealth Question & Answer

I ended up waiting nearly a month for my results of my MRI Scan on my spine. I think its time for him to contact his doctor/surgeon etc to see what the result is.

I was told I would hear about my results within 2 weeks, but I did not hear anything for nearly a month and that is only because I contacted my solicitor to complain about the length of time it was taking.Health Question & Answer

If its taken that long its probally normal. They usually call quickly if its abnormal but you can try calling the doctor that referred you and ask them. They should have results by now for sure.Health Question & Answer
