I, too, had chest pain and the doctors, emergency room physicians, put me through all the tests - the stress test, etc. Everything came back fine - they told me they thought I was under too much stress and sure enough, when I got rid of the stress in my life (some I had to learn to live with), the pain subsided and has not returned. We can't all live stress free, but there are tapes out there that teach you to live with it and to categorize any situation. If you are stressing over the health of a loved one, or the death of someone near - there are support groups for that kind of stress - contact Hospice, they can help. If it is over your job, that is hard, but I retired early because the stress was killing me at work. I live differently than I had planned, but the lack of stress is worth it. You need to asses your stressers and do what you can to eliminate them - or learn to live with them. Hope this helps - you are in my prayers.Health Question & Answer
It could be a viral infection. Your body will have to fight that one on its own so you'll need to rest in bed for a couple of days and have brine soups and low stress etc...

It could be that you are stressed or have a gas build up in your chest cavity. I know it sounds crazy, but very possible.
