How to protect myself from the flu?!

Question: How to protect myself from the flu.?
My sister just got the flu, and I really don't want to get sick. I just got my wisdom teeth pulled out yesterday and yeah being sick could ruin the healing process. Anyways is there anyway I can protect myself from getting my sisters flu.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
You could get the flu shot right away. BTW, it does NOT give you the flu. The flu vaccine is made up of inactive virus particles that cannot cause the disease.
I've included a CDC website link at the bottom of this response.

If your sister has a true case of the flu (rather than a cold), then you've likely been exposed already - if this flu virus is new to you then you may come down with it anyway.

Wash your hands early and often.
Flu is transmitted by airborne means, so keep some distance between yourself and your sister.

In any event, get the flu shot. If it doesn't help you avoid this strain, you'll have protection from other viruses later on in the year.

Stay away from her, then go get a flu shot. Thats why they make flu shots. It gives you the flu, but after that, you are fit as a fiddle.Health Question & Answer

Stay away from your sister, wash your hands often, drink plenty of fluids, including orange juice, eat very well, and get lots of sunshine.

* Take a good multi-vitamin.Health Question & Answer
