How deep would a needle have to penetrate for risk of HIV?!
Question: How deep would a needle have to penetrate for risk of HIV.?
The other night me and my girlfriend were out clubbing and this guy pricked my girl with a needle. weather or not it was a syringe i don't know but it scared the s**t out of both of us. We have been to the doctors and they said there seems to be no penetration of the skin and practically no risk of infection, but i would like some different opinions on the matter before i start having sexual intercourse with her just be on the safe side.Health Question & Answer

if the skin wasnt broken she should be ok, was phlebotomist for a long time, and we were taught it had to penetrate our skinHealth Question & Answer
In cases where medical personnel accidentally spiked themselves with HIV-contaminated needles, the infection rate was 0.33% - one in 300.' So if they can work around needles and have such a low risk, she should be fine. But if it would make you feel better, get tested within the next 3 months. Hope this helps. Good Luck!!!!
