Always tired, heart palpitates, can't stand ANY sort of heat, feel dizzy ALL THE TIME...what could it be?!

Question: Always tired, heart palpitates, can't stand ANY sort of heat, feel dizzy ALL THE TIME...what could it be.?
I know I should probably go see a doctor, but I just want an idea of what the problem could be. I used to think I was just lazy in high school gym, or the reason I couldn't work out without feeling like I'm about to die was just cause I'm lazy, but it seems like it's more than that. I'm 20, 5'10, 145lbs and I get exhausted really easy. Just taking a shower gets me feeling dizzy. If I raise my hands, my heart rate goes up and I get dizzy/light headed. I feel like I've worked out for 3 hours straight just when I walk around for 10 mins. I always have to have constant cool air blowing directly into my nose or else I feel like I'm suffocating. Any ideas of what this could be.? This has been going on for as long as I can remember. My mom says I'm lazy, but I know it's not just that, something's wrong and I know it.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
If could be a thyroid disorder.

Hyperthyroidism causes "heat intolerance." You are also pretty skinny, another sign of hyperthryoidism. Any thyroid disorder can cause palpitations.

So go to a doctor. That physician should do blood work (TSH to check for thyroid disorder, CBC to check your blood cell count, and CMP - Complete Metabolic Panel - to check for electrolytes, LFTs, etc).

Thyroid disorders are easily treated and you will feel MUCH better.

Good luck! Remember to describe ALL of the symptoms to your physician.Health Question & Answer

with the symptoms you described it sounds like they are random and with activity. 5'!0" 145 is slightly light but not overly so. do you have any eating disorders, anxiety issues.? with the palpitations, weakness, dizziness it could also be a heart valve issue. do you have a heart murmur.? check with an mdHealth Question & Answer

Sounds like you should see a doctor. Maybe get your breathing tested. Maybe something up with your lung function. Could also be a sinus thing and or a touch of anxiety.? Health Question & Answer

When you're goofing around with friends do all symptoms disappear.?Health Question & Answer

The first thing that came to my mind was a thyroid disorder, but if you're stressing yourself over the symptoms, they're going to be magnified.
For your own peace of mind, go to your GP/doctor and get yourself checked.
I did last year when I was having palpitations - I had an ECG and loads of blood tests, all came back normal, and just knowing this has almost totally stopped the symptoms. I just get the odd "flutter" when I'm stressed or have had too much caffeine.Health Question & Answer
