Pretty sure that is an urban legend that began way back in the 70's when microwaves first came out. The microwave uses radiation to cook the food and the myth is that the radiation would cause cancer. It has never been proven to cause cancer, but just in case I don't stand right next to the microwave when it is running...you never know.Health Question & Answer
