At home cures for cold?!

Question: At home cures for cold.?
I have a cough, green mucus (sorry for the detail) and tickle in my throat. What can I do over the counter, that will not require a bunch of rare herbs to get rid of the nasty junk.Health Question & Answer

Nasty junk -- Mucinex is a very effective expectorant. Just make sure you drink plenty of water. As disgusting as their commercials are with that olive green Jaba the Hut type character, it does the trick for me.

A wonderful, natural remedy that I found surprisingly effective and soothing was use of a Neti Pot. It can be found in Whole Food Stores and is basically a ceramic pot which looks like a small tea pot. You simply add 1 teaspoon of salt to warm water and rinse your sinuses.

To be honest, the first time I used it, I was skeptical -- it is a regular allergy/cold season routine now. Literally, the spout of the tea pot is placed in one nostril (while you are standing over the sink), after a few seconds, the rinse travels through your sinus cavity and exits your other nostril. Green junk gone!

Good Luck . . . and feel better soon.Health Question & Answer
