and never took it off. lol hypothetically. i know this would ever happen, but say you covered a cut with something air tight like tape even, would it ever heal.? cause to make a wound heal its needs air, the bandaid is only to stop the blood flow... hmmm wondering .Health Question & Answer

I had a deep cut on my chin when I was a child. The doctor sealed the bandage on my chin with something like Superglue! after almost a month I was able to peal the edges loose without removing skin! Almost no scar! If I would have been able to get things loose, the odds of infection and a scar were real high.
Since 2001 I have acquired about 24 more inches of scar sealed with Superglue and not stitches! There are pieces of rib that have grown back. Don't know what more to say! Health Question & Answer

"stop blood flow" - not really.... it will absorb any leaking blood, but basically protects the wound from external aggravation like rubbing. I expect the wound will heal (as that is an internal action) but the surface

I would think even if you did not let out side air reach the cut ( if there was a magical way to do that LOL) the cut would still heal from the inside out. The white cells and blood that get to the surface would have the oxygen needed to heal it Thats my guess. Health Question & Answer
u can cover the cut as long as its sterile and until it develops a cover. the purpose of a bandaid is to prevent an infection so u dont leave it on until its completly gone. Once there is little cover u can remove it.Health Question & Answer
