People don't normally die from a seizure but from the effects of the seizure, like getting in a car accident or falling and hitting their head. It is also possible to choke on vomit or water (if you're swimming or something) but IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO SWALLOW YOUR TONGUE. Trying to put something in the mouth of a person having a seizures is just asking to have your hand bitten.
There is however a condition called SUDE, or Sudden Unexplained Death in EPilepsy. It is basically when a person with epilepsy suddenly dies for no apparent reason. (Hence the name).
