If I just 'got' diabetes in fewer than the last 3 months, will the a1c (glycated hemoglobin) test show it?!

Question: If I just 'got' diabetes in fewer than the last 3 months, will the a1c (glycated hemoglobin) test show it.?
If the glycated hemoglobin (hba1c) test measures the amount of sugar on the red blood cells within 3 months, then doesn't that mean that it will show a relatively normal level for someone if that person has just developed diabetes within the last few months.? Or is it that diabetes just doesn't 'happen' like that and pre-diabetes will show up on the test first.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
An A1C test, also known as a glycated hemoglobin test, isn't used for diagnosing prediabetes or diabetes. Instead, it gauges how well you're managing your diabetes.

Unlike a fasting blood glucose test or a daily finger stick, both of which measure your blood sugar level at a given time, the A1C test reflects your average blood sugar level for the past two to three months. Test results show what percentage of your hemoglobin
