Open blisters...... infection.... what to do?!

Question: Open blisters...... infection.... what to do.?
I row and I've been getting quite a few blisters on my hands. My brother used to row and he said to pop the blisters once you get them and put methylated spirits on them to dry them out before your next rowing session. My mum says when you pop them, you have to remove all the skin from on top of the blister so it won't get infected under the loose skin, which is open to dirt etc.

I want to pop my blisters so they will dry out before next rowing session but I would like another solution other than methylated spirits as it stings like hell! If you have another way to dry them out, please comment. I have rowing every second day so they need to dry out fairly quickly.

I also want a way to toughen up the palms of my hands so I'm less susceptible to blisters. If you know anything to answer that too, that would be awesome

Thanks.Health Question & Answer

Basketball Chicky,
Buy some micropore tape from the phasrmacy, you then put it on over the blister - (it will not be a problem to remove and will not
