Driving and diabetes - the need to tell insurance companies?!

Question: Driving and diabetes - the need to tell insurance companies.?
I have recently had my Type 2 Diabetes control reviewed by my Doctor and unfortunately whereas it was being controlled by diet alone, I now have to take tablets. My doctor didn't tell me I needed to inform the DVLA/my Car Insurance company of this development, I only discovered this via a pamphlet in the Doctor's Surgery. I have now informed both, but somebody has told me I also need to inform the company insuring my Household Contents. Is this true.? First-hand experience of this would be appreciated.Health Question & Answer

You need to tell any vehicle insurance due to your licence - but it wont effect the price at all.

However, household, I'm don't think they even ask you about your personal self - unless you have got some sort of personal insurance attached to it. Phone them just in case, you don't want to be accused of not disclosing something when you need to claim..Health Question & Answer

I can see telling car insurance companies, but not household. The better place to ask questions is you local diabetes association.Health Question & Answer
