I'm having a followup for a glucose fasting test i had done recently. i tested at 111-?!
Question: I'm having a followup for a glucose fasting test i had done recently. i tested at 111-.?
the thing is i exercised hard before the test and i heard that i can affect it. well now i have been testing my blood sugar at home and so far i've ranged from 77 to 81. i'm really confused because i seem to be in the normal range but is this due to the fact i have changed my diet and have cut out most sugar/most carbs. i mean i still eat some sugar and carbs. i'm really new to this so thanks for any advice but i think i should tell my doctor my results at home and see if i need another test because i shouldn't be diagnosed on one test alone right.? she said i would get another fasting test in 3 months.Health Question & Answer
Answers:
Yes, discuss your results with your Dr. However it would be wise to still have another test in 3 months as a way of follow up and monitoring. A blood glucose drawn by your Dr office/lab is more accurate. Continue with good healthy eating habits and exercise, but follow up as recommended by your DrHealth Question & Answer
Exercise and changing your diet to decrease your sugar intake will definitely lower your fasting blood sugar. Norma fasting blood sugar should be under a 100.Health Question & Answer
