Husband was bitten by some kind of bug in the woods, ?!

Question: Husband was bitten by some kind of bug in the woods, .?
he had 4 little red bites, 2 of which got bigger and turned black, with a little pus. He sqeezed out the pus, and there was a hole, not very deep, but still a hole, and the sores are still black a week later. I can't get him to go see the doctor. Does anyone have any idea of what might've bitten him to cause black sores like that.? ThanksHealth Question & Answer

Answers:
If you are bitten by a Brown Recluse spider, you will only notice a slight stinging pain. Four to eight hours later it will hurt more. After a few days it might look like a bruise, or a blister surrounded by a blue or purple that will turn black, brown and crusty.

Seek immediate medical attention if that fits the wound. The recluse spider bite will eat the flesh away a bit.

Black could mean dead tissue... ask your hubby what he thinks the black is.... that should get him thinking... is it a bruise.? the pigment from a poison.? dying flesh and cells.?

what is your geography.?

AFTER MORE research I would concur that it is a spider bite and since its been one week already its most likely about as bad as it will get. Watch the black and determine if its bruising or worse than that. If you want you can circle it on the skin with a ball point pen, to make sure its not spreading. Watch it close, at this point I doubt it will be getting worse and doubt there is much they can do more for it. Squeeze the puss out if it gets infected and hope it heals up. keep us posted.Health Question & Answer

It almost sounds like a spider. They inject a venom that breaks down tissue, this could be why it is black.Health Question & Answer
