Why do u have to take 4 different antibiotics to treat TB?!

Question: Why do u have to take 4 different antibiotics to treat TB.?
Answers:
It is multi drug resistant. 'Normal' antibiotics do not kill TB bacteria. You need to take a combination of special antibiotics for six months.

Standard treatment in the UK is usually a combination of three or four antibiotics that you take for two months. These are isoniazid, rifampicin, pyrazinamide, and often ethambutol too.

This is followed by continuing with rifampicin and isoniazid for a further four months.Health Question & Answer
