You should ALWAYS have your inhaler with you. It may save your life. In an emergency situation, black coffee can be a temporary bronchodilator (due to the caffeine). Depending on how severe your asthma is, you may need to have a nebulizer for when the inhalers aren't doing the trick. If you are getting frequent attacks, you may need to be put on preventative medicine.

Never leave home without your inhaler!! Inhalers work to relax the muscles around the airways. If you don't relax those muscles, it may result in worsening symptoms and may lead to death or unconsciousness.Health Question & Answer

There is oral medication too. But you have to take it on a regular basis and it won't do anything when you are having an attack. Try sitting down and relaxing. Breathing evenly. If you can get some kind of steam that normally helps. But the best thing to do if you are a serious asthmatic is to learn to carry that inhaler with you.Health Question & Answer

It is the best way because the meds help open your air passage which is whats closing to make it hard to breath.

I dont carry my inhaler with me when I run sometimes so i just lay down for a while and breath, put some water on a rag and cover my head (not the mouth) taking deep breaths till I feel better.Health Question & Answer

The "rescue inhaler" should be carried with you-it is inconvenient, but trust me- you will wish you carried it if you ever have an attack!

Daily meds may also help decrease the need for the increased use of the the rescue inhaler.Health Question & Answer

no, depends on the level of your asthma attack. but it is better to have one handy. discovered in an acute asthma attack breath deeply and slowly and try to stay calm. if not it becomes worst
