Ignore it, it'll go away some day by it's self. Health Question & Answer

There are various (sometimes too many!) causes of pimples.

If due to hormonal causes, there's really nothing much you can do except to wait it out. Of course if it's too serious then you may need medical intervention...antibiotics, Roaccutane creams etc...

Proper cleansing is necessary, but twice a day is enough. Too much washing can also cause further weakening of the skin's barrier function. Select a gentle surfactant-based cleansing gel (e.g. Cetaphil). Soap/soap bars clean very well but are too alkaline and harsh.

You may try Neem natural herbal extract (available as capsules). Neem is known for its blood cleansing properties. Of course drink lots of water daily. Have enough sleep every night. These are the best "natural" remedies :))

One most important point though - Keep your fingers off your face! Most transmission of bacteria occurs that way.

Anyway just to let you know you are not alone... So when I follow my own advices above, and still get pimples, then I like to blame it on HORMONES!!

Cheers! :))
Health Question & Answer

There are 2 kinds of acne. One teenage acne. Two acne that is not your typical acne, it looks red, like its irritated and huge puss filled( this is what needs medical attention) because any off the counter or self administered things won't help cure it!
I only did one thing in my teenage years for my acne and that was to see a dermatologist( skin doctor) for my acne, I never self diagnosed. You have to remember, acne is not just whats on the surface, sometimes we get acne or skin reactions to what we eat. I find a diet that had sugar or any greasy foods also caused me to break out.
The best thing to do is to see a dermatologist he/she can prescribe the creams best suited for your skin. Rememberthe basics though.

Never scrub your skin hard, or over wash it, makes acne worse!
Never touch your face after you touch a surface that may not be clean
wash your hands each time, keep good hygeine
wash your face twice a day
use a cool astringent, or toner, gets rid of excess oils
use a basic cleanser/soap mild soap- dove is good, scent free
use some sort of oil control lotion, to prevent furthur blocks-
I do this to manage my skin
Avoid

any moisturizing creams
any makeup with moisturizing, anti-anging, if you use any
don't wear makeup when you exercise it clogs pores
and always use a mattifying base under your foundation, to prevent oilyness. Always look for items that say water based, or oilfree, shine free, etc.

These are some of the things. But I find you got to experiment a little when it comes to the skin. Other things I use. I use colgate on my acne, it zaps them away literally and it works too, ive tried it.
Tea tree oil works too. Stay away from benzyl peroxide though, it overdries the skin and apparently can cause skin cancer in the sun! yikes! I also want to say acne is not forever for some individuals. I had acne in my teens and now im 24, my acne is signifigantly less now than it used to be, so I hope you find some hope in this.
Good luck. . Health Question & Answer

go to a dermatologist!!!! I've had acne for a couple years now (I'm a senior in high school) and nothing's worked to get rid of my acne! well, proactive worked fairly well, but my mom won't let me get it any more cause it's so expensive! and then after I stopped using it my acne got worse. but a week ago I went to a dermatologist and she prescribed two different medications for me (differin and duac, one for morning, one for night) and I can already see my skin improving! so if you feel like nothing is working, GO TO A DERMATOLOGIST!!! :)Health Question & Answer

Consult your dermatologist.

There are some very powerful medications that can put a stop to that. However these are only meant as a last resort if your acne is very severe since they have serious side effects to women who plan to get pregnant or are pregnant.Health Question & Answer

they made mine worse.
you could have hormones out of balance so go and have a check up with your doctor.
a balance and healthy lifestyle is a must.
de-stress more often and dont touch your pimples.Health Question & Answer
