Appendicitis or gall stones maybe?!

Question: Appendicitis or gall stones maybe.?
My daughter (almost 15yrs) has pain in the lower right side of her stomach and pain when urinating.
She does not have a urinary tract infection and the doctor seems to think it's not appendicitis because she is not vomiting and can still eat.
This pain has been fairly consistent but varying in intensity for 3 days.
Any ideas what it could be.?

(We saw a doctor today who is running tests so I am not using Yahoo to diagnose her...just curious what it might be.?)Health Question & Answer

She can have a chronic inflammation of the appendix, which doesn't necessarily make you vomit, or run fever, or have any of the other classic signs of appendicitis. I suffered this same thing for several years, and was worked up for polycystic ovaries, PID, gallstones, etc- none of which I had. Finally an internist suggested that this was the best explanation he could give, but as it wasn't acting up at the time I opted to wait for surgery. I parted company with my appendix about two years later, and at that time the pathologist said it showed good evidence of chronic inflammation, probably for years. As far as your daughter goes, sometimes the best way to determine what it may be is to determine what it is not. That will mean checking her ovaries, fallopian tubes, doing cultures of all sorts, ultrasound of the gallbladder, and all the usual blood/urine tests. Once they eliminate all the really ugly possibilities, that will only leave a few things it can be. At that point, they may suggest a laproscopic procedure to go in and just look. While they are in the vicinity they can check out the appendix, and if needed- out with it. In the meantime, all you really can do is wait and be patient while they eliminate things. Sorry, but with young ladies, it's really tough, since there's a lot of stuff in that right lower abdomen.Health Question & Answer

I don't know, but I had appendicitis and continued eating and didn't vomit. I'd be hesitant to accept his explanation.Health Question & Answer
