Strep Throat or Sore Throat?!
Question: Strep Throat or Sore Throat.?
My father has said that he's had a scratchy throat for about 10 days now. It tends to come and go, as well.
His mucus from sneezing, etc. is clear, so I doubt it is some type of infection.
His voice is a little raspier, and he coughs often.
On a side note, he is a frequent weed smoker, too. (if that's any help)
He seems to be fine, and he isn't weak or exhausted, so I ruled out colds or flu.

To be honest, with the clear mucus along with no weakness, it may just be an allergy of some sort, and the scratchy throat would be caused by post nasal drop from the nasal secretions due to the allergen.

Look at his throat if there is white streaks and redness then it is strep, and needs antibiotics.Health Question & Answer
Go talk to your doctor and see if you can get a strep test. It's the only reliable way of testing.

My experience with strep is head ache, slight fever, and upset tummy.
