What causes constant headaches?!

Question: What causes constant headaches.?
My daughter is 15 months old. While I was pregnant with her, I started having really horrible headaches. My ob discovered that my blood pressure was out of control. I ended up having a c-section two months early because of it. Right after-wards, I started seeing a regular doctor, who put me on blood pressure medication. I was still having the headaches, so I brought them up to him. He said immediately that they were migraines and prescribed topomax and fiorecet(sp.?). I didn't tolerate the topomax well, and ended up at the e.r. at work when I broke out from it. The e.r. doctor prescribed another beta blocker. I can't even remember the name of it now. I took it until the prescription ran out. After losing my insurance, I went to a local income-based hospital for treatment. They did a cat scan there but found nothing, so the doctor just prescribed me more pain meds and sent me home. I have this headache almost every day. I don't think it is a migraine, because I do not have any of the classic symptoms and the migraine meds did not seem to help. I do not want to continue taking prescription pain meds for these headaches. I do not want to become dependent on them. The headache starts off as a stabbing pain normally right above my right eye. It stays like that for several hours, then dulls and seems to go over my whole head. It has gotten worse lately, to the point that I have trouble moving my head when I have one. What could cause this, and what can I do to stop them.? Oh, and my blood pressure is controlled now, so that's not what is causing them.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
If you drink diet sodas or use artificial sugar, many people are sensative to the chemicals they contain and you might be one of them.

I had very bad headaches years ago because of my constant use of diet sodas. Within a month to 6 weeks after stopping drinking them completely, my headaches were gone.

Many low fat or diet foods also contain artificial sugars, so you have to stop them also. And MSG as a food additive also can cause headaches.

Hope that helps.Health Question & Answer
