Am I developing normally?!

Question: Am I developing normally.?
I'm thirteen (fourteen in Feb.) and I haven't had my period yet. A lot of my friends have and it makes me feel kind of uncomfortable when they talk about it. also, I don't have boobs yet either. Is that normal.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Totally normal, no need to worry about it. Puberty can strike a girl anywhere from 9 until 17. Just trust that it will happen to you soon. If you look at the adults around you, you notice that none of them look like kids.

You actually should count yourself lucky, because when it does happen for you, all yoru friends who have already gone through the experience will be there as support.

If you still have not had your period by 16 or developed yet, then might be the time to visit the doctor.Health Question & Answer

I'm not sure why you posted this to the diabetic "question room" but yes, you do sound completely normal. Normal is an awful word to throw about because who's to say what's normal.? Just because the person next to you has their period or a decent set of boobs doesn't mean that you're going to develop at the same speed as them. There are so many genetic factors involved, for one thing. You might (and I know this sounds absolutely awful!) ask your mum or grandmother when they got their periods, it'll give you an idea (only an idea, mind you) of when to expect yours.

In the meantime, spend your time developing your mind and your friends! Your body usually knows what it's doing. What's normal for you is certainly not normal for anyone else at all!Health Question & Answer
