How should I tell my parents I think I have diabetes?!

Question: How should I tell my parents I think I have diabetes.?
I am a little shy and have already asked on here i think I have diabetes, and they said tell your parents so I can see a doctor. I am nervous to tell my parents, "I think I have diabetes." Is there an easier more comfortable way to tell them to take me to a doctor so I can get checked.?

Thank you so muchHealth Question & Answer

*sigh, I am in the same situation right here, ok, last time, I thought the same thing but it was a false sign, but this time, I really think that I have it.

Just tell your mom that you're always tired and have to go to the bathroom a lot, like, tell your mom what you are feeling. And tell her you feel sick so can she take you to the doctors. Pretend that you don't know what's happening to yourself. Good luck!

P.S - I would wait for about a week to see if you really have it or just a false result.

ADDITIONAL INFO: I checked your questions, yeah, I think you do have diabetes, anyways, just drop hints and things and say that you're sick. Good luck! I hope you feel better! : )Health Question & Answer

When it comes to your health there is no room for shyness. Be direct about how you are feeling and what you believe your symptoms to be and make it clear that you think you need to see a doctor.

You can do all that without using the 'd' word. Just do it and do it fast as you can because you want to get it, if you have it, under control so that you can go back to living your life and not worrying so much. Properly controlled diabetes needn't change your life.

please inform your parents. this really is a epidemic. there is no discredit to this. i think the would have trouble if you told them you have been a heroin user for the last 5 years, or in voled in the drug trade. this is your future lifestyle and health you are afraid of. this is a non self inflicted illness. the sooner the tests are done, the faster your life style will improve. if uncontrolled you will not graduate high school through no fault of your own . they are your parents, they would drive miles in a blizzard to have you tested. the results may be received within 2 days . please tell them . I am a diabetic, i was most scared when i didnt have it and feared it. But now that i have it and have been confirmed i realize its just a condition and a life style change, nothing more nothing less. My life is as good as before, my blood sugar levels r in control because they taught me how to look after myself. I walk 30 minutes daily and have lost weight. I eat everything with low GI and i am fine n healthy. Dont be scared and just go ahead and tell them, the sky hasnt fallen and neither will it fall. Its ok :)Health Question & Answer

Everyone should get a annual physical. I would start with asking for this and then ask for blood work which could include diabetes check. You will have a health baseline and then be able to plan any required actions base on your physical.

I would educate myself on what it is to be diabetic. I can recommend visiting my blog site and read my story. I think it might help.

Same thing happened to me.. and I was 22 at the time and still afraid.
When I did tell them "I think I have diabetes" they didn't take me seriously, but I booked the appointment myself, you should urge your parents to book yourself one.
Get yourself checked out :)Health Question & Answer

You can drop hints about it like saying im thirsty or im really tired or i have to go to the bathroom a lot around them. or you can go to this symptom checker http://symptoms.webmd.com/ and then reading like what you have to them say im not feeling well so i found this symptom checker online and then read off what you get.

Hope you feel better!Health Question & Answer

Just be like "Mom, I was online and there was this thing that said the symptoms of diabetes. And I have all if not most of them. So I think I might have diabetes. Can you take me to a doctor.?"
