My roommate has Mono! What can I do?!
Question: My roommate has Mono! What can I do.?
To me, it seems unlikely that I will not catch it, since we will be sharing a dorm for 1 and a half semesters. Isn't it true that once someone has mono, they will be carriers of it forever, and may even feel symptoms of it again.? I really don't want this disease!
Being a strait dude, I won't be kissing him any time soon, but I know there are other ways. What should I do to avoid getting it.
So my questions are:
Am I likely to catch it eventually.?
Does it really stay forever.?
Should I be worried.?
How can I avoid it.?Health Question & Answer

Sweetheart, you can get it by talking to someone. That's how I got it in the 10th grade. I went and asked the girl that had been out of school for a month where she'd been and it turns out she had mono. Next thing I know, I have it. So.......... yes you can get it from being around her. It's an airborne disease so be very careful.Health Question & Answer
