***Am I suffering from some sort of illness??***?!

Question: ***Am I suffering from some sort of illness.?.?***.?
In the span of about 1 year I got real sick. 5 times I had real bad attacks. The symptoms were: real bad stomach cramps that gradually built up into strong stabbing, ripping pains across my abdomen (almost like a contraction). Then I'd start to feel dizzy and sick and almost pass out. Not long after that I'd vomit and get real bad diarrhoea and a heavy period all at the same time (sorry to be so graphic). After this I'd get a real bad fever (this is all happening at the same time) I'd be cold all over like right to the bone and I'd be shivering and sweating too. Then I'd get real hot and I'd keep alternating between the too. I felt like I was dying and this happened 5 times in 1 year!

I've had similar symptoms whilst drinking alcoholic beverages such as: Bourben, Whiskey and Rum. All mixed with coke. I think I'm allergic to something in these drinks so I would like to know if anyone knows the base ingredient for these drinks.

The doctors thought that I just had a tummy bug but I don't think so because at one point I didn't have anything to eat and I got an attack. And it happens when I drink Bourben and stuff as well. One lady actually thought that I might not be drinking enough water as well. But what do you guys think.?.? Can you suffer this bad from dehydration.?.? How do you get dehydrated from 2 cans of Bourben.?.? And from not eating breakfast.?.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Dehydration can kill you. So depending on how severe it was, it could have caused terrible attacks. Alcohol dehydrates cells, for instance, a hangover is simply some fairly bad dehydration.

I don't know what a can of Bourbon is. Maybe you are not from the same place I am, but it sounds like it'd be a hell of a lot of Bourbon, in which case you may be poisoning yourself with alcohol and creating these symptoms. I know if I drink a lot it can really mess with my digestive tract, and if I am on my period it will be worse, because the hormones from my period mess with my digestive tract, too, causing stomach upset etc...Health Question & Answer

That does not just sound like dehydration! You could have allergy to alcohol but those are not the symptoms. I would try avoiding alcohol all together and then see if these symptoms return. if they do you know you have a problem, if not then you have to stay away from alcohol : ( Health Question & Answer

Your body is sending you some sort of wake-up call and you are almost listening. Years ago, my first husband went to our family doctor, complaining of various symptoms, tossing out the possibility that he was allergic to olives! or maybe, just maybe, drinking too much. The doctor asked how much he drank and of course, my husband lied. The doctor told him that he would prefer my husband quit smoking, as a 6 pack a day did not alcoholism make. Several decades later, my former husband, now a drug and alcohol counselor, had a young man assigned to him by the courts. It turned out to be the grandson of our family doctor, who was a apparently one link in a long chain of family alcoholics. Who knew.? Point being that you mention alcohol frequently. To some extent, you are your own doctor in this. Eliminate alcoholic intake 100% for a month and see if you have any more of these attacks. If so, bingo, you have your source of the trouble. If not, well, the symptoms will be easier to pin to something if they are not cluttered up with alcohol in your system. By the way, alcohol intake DOES contribute to dehydration. Now, the scariest thing here is that you may find out that you require alcohol. If a month with ZERO alcohol is a problem for you, then you need to deal with the alcoholic issue, and fast, if you hope to live.Health Question & Answer
