Epilepsy Seizures question IMPORTANT ASAP?!

Question: Epilepsy Seizures question IMPORTANT ASAP.?
My little sister was diagnosed with Pseudoseizures which are a physical manifestation of an emotional disturbance. They resemble epileptic seizures, but, unlike the seizures caused by epilepsy, they are not caused by electrical disruptions in the brain. People experiencing pseudoseizures often experience loss of consciousness, grand mal-like twitching or jerking, and aggravated emotional states. These episodes may last for 20 minutes or more.

She has has over 4 seizures in the past 2 days and over 7 seizures in the past 2 weeks. She is now getting to the point where she stops breathing and it takes me to blow down to her lungs to get her to breath again. Could this be a sign of Epilepsy seizures. Does anyone have any suggestions or stories.? We are getting really worried about her. Health Question & Answer

Errrr...They tried to diagnose me with this crap. I told the neurologist, my fam doc and anyone to shove it. I would stop breathing just like that too.
I feel your frustration. Only it was me going through the seizures. At least she has someone believing it may not me in her head. No one would believe me that they were real.
Turns out my gull bladder was so inflammed it was pressing up against my diaphragm and causing my lungs to not be able to breath and therefor somehow causing these brain seizures.
She could also have a very bad infection somewhere. Maybe in her spinal cord, or an autoimmune disorder. Lots of illnesses can cause "non-epileptic" seizures. But, seizures non the less.
I was having up to 4 per hour and my lungs would seize up. I could have dies but they were telling me it was stress. They were wrong, I knew it stuck to my guns.
Try to get second, third, fourth opinions. But, never settle. Her brain is frying every time she goes through that. Check her gull bladder. Have a spinal tap. Check everything. There's a lurking under cause for those seizures. Her body is crying out to be heard.
She's really lucky to have you in her corner. You have that nagging feeling for a reason. Now find out why!Health Question & Answer

Have they tried anti-seizure medications.? Generally a diagnosis of pseudo seizures is not made until after the patient does not respond to medication. If meds have not been tried, maybe they should be, as 15% of patients with pseudo seizures also have epilepsy.

Secondly, there are sometimes physical causes for non-epileptic seizures. They are not always psychological in origin. Some other causes are syncope and TIAs.

I think that you all should get in touch with your sister's neurologist and let him/her know what is going on -- if this diagnosis was made by a GP you should find her a neurologist as soon as possible. Health Question & Answer

My sis has been having seizures for about the past seven years. My sis had what they called 2 second seizures. What would happen is that her eyes would roll to the back of her head for about 2 seconds and she was back to normal. What the doctor told my family after she had her first big convulsion(when you shake) is that if she is breathing while she is having seizure she is going to be fine. The only thing you could do is wait it out and let the seizure make its path. If you have to give your sis mouth to mouth to help her breath what you have to do is after she is done having this shock you have to immediately take her to the hospital and tell them what has happened. If your sis is taking medication what you have to do is give her a steady diet. She has to get at least 8.5 hours of sleep and exercise.
I really really hope this helps.Health Question & Answer
