Question: How was your accutane experience.?
Hi Everyone. I am scheduled to begin taking accutane in a little less than a month. If you have taken accutane, I would like to know how your experience was. Please answer the following questions if you don't mind.
1) How long did your "initial breakout" last and how far into treatment were you when your "initial breakout" started.?
2)What side effects did you experience.?
3)If you have been off accutane for a while, how long have you been clear.?
4)Would you reccomend accutane to a friend/family member.?

I haven't personally taken accutane, but a good friend of mine did. I'm not sure about how quickly it worked, but it definitely cleared her acne.
I only answered this to warn you that accutane can interfere with birth control, my friend's doctor didn't make her aware of this. She was actually taking more than one birth control pill because she has endometriosis, and the accutane rendered them ineffective and she got pregnant. So keep that in mind if you're on birth control.Health Question & Answer
