Could I have a gall bladder problem?!

Question: Could I have a gall bladder problem.?
Well, I'm asking this here instead of a doctor because, surprise! I don't have health insurance. Well, ever since I gave birth to my daughter in June of this year, I have had severe stomach issues. I'm sorry if this is gross, but I've had painful and constant gas, and about a week or two weeks out of every month since June, I've had severe diarrhea. I used to have an iron stomach before my baby was born, could eat anything and everything in great quantities and not have stomach issues. These days I eat in smaller quantites and a bit healthier. I guess I'm stressed but no more than the next person and I have been way more stressed out in my life prior to this and had no stomach issues. I had to have my husband take my daughter to her appointment with her pediatrician one time without me because of the stomach issues, and he asked my husband if my "poop floats" and if it does then I could have a gall bladder issue. And it does float. Has anyone had this condition post pregnancy or at all.? How was it handled and what was your diagnosis.? Thanks for the help.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Pregnancy can definitely induce gallbladder issues/gallstones.

Gallbladder problems, including gallstones, increase in pregnancy. The gallbladder may not empty as efficiently during pregnancy, leaving behind "sludge" that can become the basis for the formation of a stone; sludge is seen in about 25 to 30 percent of pregnant women who have ultrasound tests of their gallbladders. Anywhere between 2.5 and 10 percent of pregnant women will actually have gallstones, most of which do not cause symptoms.

A small number of women -- about 1 in 1,000 -- will have gallstones that do cause problems. The stone or stones may block a duct that empties the gallbladder, causing pain under the right rib cage. Often the pain is worse after a fatty meal, because the gallbladder produces more bile to help the body digest such foods. Nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite are other common symptoms. Sometimes a bacterial infection can occur, and a woman can be significantly ill, with fever in addition to the above symptoms.

Gallstones - Symptoms

The most common symptom of gallstones is pain in the stomach area or in the upper right part of the belly, under the ribs.

The pain may:

* Develop suddenly in the center of the upper belly (epigastric area) and spread to the right upper back or shoulder blade area. It is usually hard to get comfortable; moving around does not make the pain go away.
* Prevent you from taking normal or deep breaths.
* Last 15 minutes to 24 hours. Continuous pain for 1 to 5 hours is common.
* Begin at night and be severe enough to wake you.
* Occur after meals.

Gallstone pain can cause vomiting, which may relieve some of the belly (abdominal) pain and pressure. Pain that occurs with a fever, nausea, and vomiting or loss of appetite may be a sign of inflammation or infection of the gallbladder (acute cholecystitis). Symptoms that may mean that a gallstone is blocking the common bile duct include:

* Yellowing of the skin and the white part of the eyes (jaundice).
* Dark urine.
* Light-colored stools.
* A fever and chills.
Health Question & Answer

Idk, I know when I had gall bladder problems the left side of my stomach felt like there was sharts of glass in it lol.. and I had gall bladder surgery and everything, that's how you fix it.. I don't think you're having gall bladder issues though, sorry but you'll just have to go to a doctor.

If your poop floats it sounds like your pancreas. I had my gallbladder out because I would eat (example: shrimp in butter) right after I would get awful stomach cramps and diarrhea. If you're eating fatty foods and get the cramping and/or diarrhea it's most likely your gallbladder. Good Luck!Health Question & Answer

You could have gall bladder issues or you could have something else. This sounds potentially serious and I understand you don't have insurance, but a lot of place work on a sliding scale, maybe you should seek medical help.Health Question & Answer
