Question: Do I have a Pink Eye.?
This morning when i woke up i could not open my eye and there was crust on my eyelashes. I went to school but when i went to first hour i went straight to the nurse my eye was itching and swollen on the eyelid. There is nothing in my eye. Is It Pink Eye.? PLEASE ANSWER!Health Question & Answer

Yes, it sounds like you do have conjunctivitis AKA pink eye. You need to get 24 hours of treatment before your return to school. You will also need a note from your doctor stating he/she has treated you for this infection and give it to your school nurse.
Oh, don't rub your eye if it is itching, it will just make it worst. You can pat you eye softly it does the same thing as scratching but won't make it worst. also wash your hand alot b/c you are contagious to everyone right now.

possibly....but don't freak out....you could be having an allergic reaction it is common this time of year. Take some benedryl....similisan has pink eye drops at CVS that help a lot. Keep ypur hand out of your face, wash hands and face, and change your pillow sheet and your towel you use on your face...you dont want it in the other eye...or the people you live with to get it...it should be better in a day or two. It's technical name is conjunctivitis..the surface of eye and eyelid become inflamed....you get a membrane...the gunk...gummed up & if you pull eye lid down the whitr is pink

The only way to know for sure is to go to your doctor, or eye doctor. It kind of sounds like Pink Eye, but your symptoms could also be explained by a scratch on your cornea, a blocked tear duct, or if you wear contacts, any type of an infection. Sounds like it. We used to have these symptoms when I was growing up sometimes. My mother would have us use a warm, wet washcloth to clean it out when we got up. The white in your eye should look irritated or blood shot too.
