Causes of right kidney pain?!

Question: Causes of right kidney pain.?
I have had kidney pain for about two weeks now. The doctor started me on Amoxicillin, but said if the pain does not go away, to come back in and they will do an ultrasound. It has not gone away and I am going back in today. I wanted to know if other people have had similar issues and what their causes were. The pain is intermittent and mainly comes when I lie down. I also have to use the bathroom frequently, but a lack of urine is not present.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Causes include kidney stones, ureteropelvic junction obsturction, kidney infection, misc. causes of ureteral obstruction, vesicoureteral reflux, back pain, muscle pain, flank hernia, bowel pain, gallstones, liver pain, lung pain, etc.

Hopefully you had a urinalysis and culture done prior to starting antibiotics! If so was it positive.?

If culture was negative (or not done) and pain presists I would get a CT scan of abdomen and pelvis without contrast; at least to start with.Health Question & Answer

You could have kidney stones or a slight infection. I had kidney stones and had some of the same symptoms. I had surgery and have never had any problems since.Health Question & Answer
