I had one so I know.
Someone who has a heart problem should be carrying "nitrostat" it is a very small pill that goes under the toung to help hold off the attack until help comes.
First and foremost calling 911 is the best thing to do first. CPR is no good and will only do damage UNLESS! he is not breathing at all.Only then perform CPR.
Aspirin is only to keep the blood thin so it flow faster through the heart, and yes when someone has an attack 2 aspirins of 81mg. helps. That is what EMT's give you in the ambulance till you get to a hospital. The nitrostat also called nitroglycerin lowers the blood pressure so the heart is not straining.Health Question & Answer

nitroglycerin should be kept on hand at all timesHealth Question & Answer

(if you or your friend has one), use an adrenaline shot(needle), which will cause the heart rate to increase. The shot will have instructions on whether or not to use it, how to inject the medicine, ect. ,
Really, aspirin does NOT help the heart. Aspirin is an acid (acetasolocitic acid). Long time ago, aspirin had magnesium "mixed" with it, and doctors tested the aspirin's effects on their heart patients. The results were better than patients that did not take the aspirin (with magnesium).
So actually, magnesium helps the heart relax, and calcium helps the heart contract (tighten), and both should be taken early in the day (with or without food),
For better heart health:
Take calcium and magnesium,
Vit. A,C,E, D(from sunlight),
Vit. K/potasium (from leafy, green vegatables, orange juice,
tomato, bananas, green tea)- this will thicken
the blood natually,
Omega-3 fatty acids (from fish, nuts, seeds, extra virgin olive oil)-
this will thin the blood naturally, and
antioxidants.
Try to stay away from allergic foods- sugar, wheat, dairy, corn, soy, yeast; they will cause: Diabetes, high blood pressure, dementia, altzheimer's disease, ADHD, ADD, yeast infections, ect.
Hope these ideas can help you.
All the best to you.

Wow, you are realizing the value early recognition and prompt management of heart attack. This simple step can save many lives every day.

First know that heart attack is an emergency and time is of critical importance. If the patient can reach a medical facility within 1/2 hour of an attack - chances of survival are much better. But this is possible only if you recognize an heart attack early.

Even if you have suspicion of a heart attack - call 911 or Emergency number in your country.

Give an un coated tablet of aspirin to chew. Put a nitroglycerin tab under the tongue. And help the patient be relaxed.

See to it that the patient reaches the emergency without any delay.
