Don't stress... Hep C is very common, you certainly don't want it though. It is a bloodborne disease so her blood who have to enter your bloodstream I can only think if a large amount of blood entered your mouth, eyes or cuts in your skin. If it does happen just wash the area well. She is still human and is sad that she is homeless. Maybe you can talk to her about her visiting everyday. She is obviously lonely but you need to tell her that you have things to do and you are happy for her to visit a couple times a week (if you are) but she should call first (if she has a phone). You will not catch it sharing forks, toilets etc or giving her a hug. I wouldn't recommend sharing needles with her though.
Health Question & Answer

Yes, it's the worse kind for her, but Hepatitis C is transmitted primarily by exposure to blood containing the hepatitis C virus.

Common routes of infection include illicit injection drugs (eg, sharing needles), blood transfusions (before 1992), needlestick accidents among healthcare workers, and any other blood-to-blood contact, such as may occur during sexual activity.

Do not be afraid of getting infected by sharing utensils with her, it is not airborne (cannot live outside the body). Health Question & Answer

Hepatitis C is spread by blood-to-blood contact and by sexual contact (although even this is rare). You won't get it from your aunt spending time at your house. Don't worry about toilets/forks or anything like that. I wouldn't share a toothbrush (possibility of bleeding gums, etc.) but can't see anything else being a problem.Health Question & Answer

Hepatitis C is only transmittable through direct body fluids. You won't contract it through the fork, or the toilet seat.

Though it isn't completely care-free. Don't touch any cuts or open wounds she may have, with the slight chance of contraction.

Bottom-line, though; you're pretty safe.Health Question & Answer

It is contagious - most ofter through infected blood. You can not get hepatitis C through using utensils.Health Question & Answer

No, im pretty sure you can only get it from direct contact with it. Just dont do anything like that with her. Health Question & Answer

No you cannot catch it that way.Health Question & Answer
