Seizures and agoraphobia?!

Question: Seizures and agoraphobia.?
I was told my seizures were controlled now I have had 2 within 3 months. I went 3 years seizure free and kinda got used to not being scared to death of dropping over in public. Now I am once again too afraid to leave my apartment. I have a 3 year old so if I had a seizure outside what would happen to her.? I feel like an awful mom and I refuse to leave home.

My license is already revoked. Anyone else afraid to go outside because of seizures.?

Oh Sweetheart, Bless your heart.
I work with people who have seizures...I work in a workshop, and people who have seizures attend daily...some have gone thru what you are going thru.
Im so sorry you are going thru this...
But please dont let these seizures take over your life, and control how you life...
If I were you, I would go and talk with my doctor about what you are going thru, let him know, the fear that this has put into you, and how you are so afraid to leave your apartment..
Do you have a family member or a close friend, who would come and get you and your little daughter and take you places...slowly start going out into public, and take your friend, that way it would ease your fears of "if" something were to happen, you would have someone with you..This will build up your security..and make your fear slowly subside..
Im sure you are on seizure meds...If not, maybe look into taking them..I know that most of them work very effectivly, and WILL prevent seizures..
Everything takes time...I know it must be scary, but please continue to live your life, so your daughter can live her life...get someone to go out with, maybe out to eat...or just to the library, start doing something maybe once a week...and build that security back up..
Talk with your doctor let him know what this is doing to you..Im sure he may have some suggestions also..
I sure hope I have helped you..
I will be praying for you...I know that God can help and get us thru anything that we need and ask of him..
Take care hun...Health Question & Answer

Hi. I don't have seizures, but i did suffer from agoraphobia. If you want to go out, just have somebody go with you. That way it will take the pressure off of something happening to you. Knowing somebody will be there helps a great deal. When i first started going out, i would always have to have somebody with me cause i was so afraid something bad would happen. Little by little, i started going out on my own. It took a few years for me to be totally cured, and i've never had the problem again ( thank god ). Trust me, having somebody with you will help. The longer you stay inside, the harder it gets to leave. Please give it a try. Good luck, hugs :-)Health Question & Answer
