Question: Help with coughing... any ideas!!!.?
Hi, I got my older sons bronchitis about two weeks ago and am on the tail end of it. Unfortunatley I had a umbilical hernia surgery about 4 months ago and actually think I have undone it by coughing so hard. I am tired of coughing!!! I also have a four month old and I wake him up every time I cough. I was going to go into the doc but I am not running a fever and he is really anti antibiotics, so I know all he will say is to ride it out. On top of the fact that I can't get prescription cough meds from him because I am breast feeding.
So... question is... what can I do to get rid of this cough that will be safe for my son as I breast feed. Please do not suggest cough meds... I have to take prescription because I am allergic to dextromethorphan (cough suppresant).
Thanks so much for any help!!!! My belly button, back, throat and head hurt so much from coughing so hard... I even have a tooth with a filling in it that is killing me from this!

Maybe you could see about getting an inhaller from your doctor. also it should help if you put vicks on you chest and back or if you use a vicks vaporizor in the room that you are inHealth Question & Answer
