What do chicken pox look like?!

Question: What do chicken pox look like.?
My son has a few spots on his body, they aren't raised, just red and my partner's mam thinks they look like chicken pox. We were just going to wait and see if he has anymore by tomorrow, but i dunno what to do for best.

also he has been itching for a while now, and has had cold symptoms too which normally comes before a chicken pox rash. How long does it normally take for the rash to come out fully.? and what do i do.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
The first symptoms of chickenpox often are a fever, a headache, and a sore throat. You or your child may feel sick, tired, and not very hungry. The chickenpox rash usually appears about 1 or 2 days after the first symptoms start. Some children get the chickenpox rash without having a fever or other early symptoms.

my three grandchildren have just had chicken pox.
all started with a few little raised blisters under the arm pit behind ears on the bottom and back. strip off your son and have a good look, if he has raised blisters then within a few hours he will have them everywhere on his body. if he has it then he has been infectious for 10 days before the rash appears. take him to the doctors they will give you some antihistamines to stop him scratching and Don't use the calamine lotion it drys and makes the itch worse. use the calamine cream instead, and don't bath him until the spots have gone as the wet and damp will spread them.Health Question & Answer

The symptoms that preceed the rash are a mild fever and feeling of unwellness. Not exactly like those of a cold. But fever, runny nose and sneezing are early symptoms of measles.

Chicken pox are like blisters. That is why they say try not to scratch them because the top comes off and leaves a small scar.

Red spots could be measles or something else.
