Is it honey(from bees) good to replace sugar for people with risk of diabetes ?!

Question: Is it honey(from bees) good to replace sugar for people with risk of diabetes .?
Answers:
Number one, it's not sugar that causes diabetes.

Either way you go,honey has nearly the same amounts of fructose and glucose as table sugar.

Honey:

* Fructose: 38.5%
* Glucose: 31.0%
* Sucrose: 1.0%
* Water: 17.0%
* Other sugars: 9.0% (maltose, melezitose)

Table sugar:

* Fructose 50%
* Glucose 50%

The best thing for a person at high risk for diabetes to do is learn all they can about healthy diet and exercise. Here's a good place to start:

Health Question & Answer

No. Honey is just highly concentrated sugar water. Diabetics (and those at risk) need to cut back on honey as much (maybe more) than regular sugar, becasue honey is CONCENTRATED sugar.Health Question & Answer

No it is not a good replacement. The herb Stevia is though.Health Question & Answer
