Question: What are the chances of cancer....?
Statisticly in numbers what are the chances of cancer for 46 year old male, ex smoker (10 + years, mdoerate amount) with the following symptoms...
- Chronic cough 3 + months
- Dry cough rare sputum
- Wheezing a little bit
- Always had difficulty sleeping (wakes up too early)
- Cough worse at night &in morning
- Swolen / inflamed nostrils (says doctor)
The following failed medications...
- Steroid treated asthma pump
- Antiobiotics
- Hay fever medicine
&The following medical steps...
- Blood test which was clear
- Chest x ray which was clear
- Two doctors checking how chest sounds through stethescope and both saying it sounds clear
Please help im freaking out so much. Its my Dad. <3

my father smokes cygarettes since 45 years ago(sometimes he arrived to almost 4 packete in a day)and he always had these symptoms:the cyga not always cause cancer,but they ALWAYS damage the lungs&co..probably they are just the consequences of 10+years smoking(also passive smoke can cause them)...'tis my experience,but i'm not a doc..make other screenings to be sure!Health Question & Answer
