Yeah the whole washing hands thing is overrated.

I feel for your sister man, I had OCD and it was a living hell! My OCD is in check right now.

My OCD was about the same as your sisters, making sure things was in place because I was afraid something would happen to my family. The reason I did things repeatedly was because I didn't do it correctly in the first place, so I would have to do it again until I did it correctly. This is probably why your sister does things over too, to make sure she did it correctly.

I recommend Duke University's approach to fighting and dealing with OCD. It's simple really, just don't give into the urges and eventually you will have none. Basically you try to ignore your OCD. I would check into that cause right now it's the only REAL option to OCD.

Edit* Not to be rude to anyone but I really had OCD and it kind pisses me off when people who have never been diagnosed with OCD make the claim they have a "minor case" of it. Listen don't comment if you don't have it.Health Question & Answer

one of my friends had a coworker who was obsessive-compulsive. he had a lot of weird little things that he did, for example when he came to work and opened his locker, he would unlock and then lock it again three times before he actually opened the locker and got his stuff. and he would count things repeatedly, and when he left for work he would go back to the house several times to make sure he locked the door.
i feel bad for people like that, my life is exhausting enough as it is without having to do everything in a repetitive pattern :/Health Question & Answer

I havn't been to the doctor but i think i have slight signs of it such as doing things in even numbers (t.v. volume) but i'm getting out of that habit. Someone in my family had it bad like when he walks he'll step back and he repeats certain things (turning on and off the light switch) and he had compulsive thoughts that wouldn't go away and that affected him. also with me if i do something with my right hand i do it with my left and vice versa (pushing the door to make sure it's shut properly).Health Question & Answer

I wouldn't say i'm full OCD but i definatly have tendancies. I will never ever take off my socks and put them back on, I have to grab a new pair. I pull off and count the same number of toilet paper squares every time. little things like that. Other people seem to find it amusing.Health Question & Answer
