Flakey Skin on face HELP !?!

Question: Flakey Skin on face HELP !.?
i have noticed that around my jaw area it was proper dry then all of a sudden it started getting all flakey. At the moment i am taking that its a reaction to the shaving foam that i used, some gilette stuff. Just wondering if this is common to people and what can help it go normal quickly. I have been constently putting moisturiser on it to stop the skin from drying out.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
What is happening is normal. if you shave and also if you have breakouts and pimples.

best is moisturize! that's the BEST thing you can do for yourself. don't experiment with other shaving creams until after having the dry skin problem fixed because changing could cause more breakouts and more flakyness. when moisturizing, scratch the flaky skin off and then put the lotion. i think there is flaky skin because after shaving the new hair pushes through the skin and the skin dries out.

if you have pimples its because the pimples are getting better. they dry out and peel. and if you shave, ur ripping the skin and then your skin dries.

all i can really say is use lotion, 3-4 times a day and drink TONS of water, it cleanses from the inside and is really good for your skin. if it gets too bad go to a dermatologist.Health Question & Answer

1) go back to your old shaving cream
2) when not going out (at home) apply a film of aloe-vers gel (its that green gel that people use when they get peeling skin from sunburn). ur jaw might get sticky and green and you may look a bit silly but if you do that for 2 days you will see a drastic improvemnt. p.s dont forget to wash it off with cool water before you go to bed
3) when washing your face(or just your jaw) use cool water, its less drying. you want all the moisture you can get.
Health Question & Answer

i used to have the same problem, but im a girl so it wasn't from shaving ha ha. But if you use any prescription acne creams it is probably those and stop putting on a lot of lotion just use face scrub and moisturize as normal. also you might want to go to the dermatologist they now how to fix it.Health Question & Answer

You may actually need to fix it from the inside. Drink more water. One of the most common causes of dry flakey skin is being a little dehydrated.

It could also be partly a reaction to the shaving foam, so switch to one for sensitive skin.Health Question & Answer

moisturising alone will not get rid of dry skin, you need to exfoilate at least twice a week, this will get rid of the flakes, then moisturising will stop the skin from dehydrating. You could also try sos serum by clarins, it will help the skin heal.Health Question & Answer

certain things could make your skin dry out. stop using the product and find a new one. keep putting moisturizer on and buy some facial scrub to slough away any more dead skin cells. (the scrub will probubly make your face dry, but just apply the moisturizer after washing your face)

good luck =]Health Question & Answer

try exfoliating the area once a day.

You can use special pads, washes, toners or simply use a face cloth to do the exfoliating.
then follow up with lotion.
