Question: What does it mean if there is blood in your vomit.?
I was diagnosed with mononucleosis about a month ago and I spent last night drinking at my friend Dave's party. I was playing beer pong (or Beirut) with Captain Morgan's and my partner didn't drink any of it. I had "the spins" for at least two hours and I started throwing up blood. I really do not want to have to go to the doctor's or hospital because I was already advised not to drink.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rhianna is quite right as always, a haematemesis, a vomit containing blood is always potentially serious and medical help should always be sought. One reason for this is that the blood you see may be only a fraction of the blood you have lost, the rest being swallowed.

You need to go to the hospital and be medically evaluated, this could just have been caused by bursting a blood vessel with the force of vomiting, but it could also be an indication of a bleeding point in your stomach.Health Question & Answer
