My husband is having diarrhea for 5 days, he feels weakness, pain all over the body, stomach pain...! Tommorow they will check his blood and exmp. from the stool.? What can it be.? Health Question & Answer

I recommend waiting for the stool sample results. This could be a viral infection. I had the same problem after returning from overseas. All tests came back negative but I was still having problems. One doctor had me try Konsil bulk forming fiber. I've been taking it for 3 months now and it has really helped. As for a cure.? First things that pop into my mind are either a thyroid problem or irritable bowel syndrome. But like the person above me said, it could be a number of different things. If it's been lasting for that long and the pain and weakness that comes along with it, he should get it checked out.

I just went through this problem and had it longer than 5 days. They did tests and found I had an ulcer from a bacteria called H-pylori. Then after that was cleared up I still had diarrhea and they started trying to do stool and blood tests. Long story short, it was from a medication I was on. Now that I'm off of it- No problem with diarrhea.Health Question & Answer
