I have Bowel problems?!

Question: I have Bowel problems.?
I had a stomach upset last tuesday morning, i excreted what i could and drank a pill of loperamide (2 mg). then later on, around 10:30 am, i drank 2 more capsules of loperamide (each were around 2 mg).

i did not excrete solid waste the day after, i figured it was just the meds working overtime. then came thursday (yesterday) and i was still UNABLE to excrete solid wastes. and i ate a bunch of other stuff like rice, mushrooms, waffles, tuna, hotdogs, and the likes.

i am currently in my 3rd day, and hopefully i would be able to have a normal bowel movement by the end of this day.

but still, do you think its still the meds working.? or something's wrong with my own body.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
I think you took too much of the medicine and have plugged yourself up. You need to drink a lot of water and eat more fiber, fresh fruit, raisin bran, salad, etc., and hope you can reverse what you have done. You could take some fiber supplement like fibercon or senekot and maybe get things moving again.Health Question & Answer

I don't think anything is wrong with you per se....you're just constipated. Try drinking some prune juice, and instead of eating what you've been eating, dare I say "junk.?", try eating some foods with a high fiber content (i.e. fruits, veggies, and brown grains.) If this doesn't work within 24hours, get yourself a laxative that you take before you go to bed, and you should have a bowel movement by the next morning.Health Question & Answer

Sounds like you have a virus and it can take 7 days before you start having solid bowel movements again. Take Immodium and follow the directions on the back of the box. They sell it in most stores.Health Question & Answer
