If you have a stem cell transplant to cure lymphoma...?!
Question: If you have a stem cell transplant to cure lymphoma....?
would it also cure any other cancers you may have at the same time.?Health Question & Answer
Answers:
Depends on what "cancer" you are talking about.
While stem cell transplant has been shown to help with various types of hematologic malignancies (e.g. lymphomas, leukemias); it has little benefit in many types of solid tumor cancers (e.g. breast, lung, GI cancers). So, if you happen to have 2 different types of lymphomas, stem cell transplant may help with both of them, but it probably won't help if you have other types of cancers.Health Question & Answer
