Yes, definitelye ear infections. If you have the flu, chances are you have water behind the eardrum, thus giving your balance fits. You get dizzy also. I just got over the flu and my both my ears hurt and I took some benadryl to dry up the water behind the eardrums. Hope you feel better very soon. Drink a lot of fluids and rest a lot. The Eustachian tube runs from the ear to the back of the throat, and one of its jobs is to help equalized pressure in the inner ear.
