The ESR is very nonspecific. Having this test come out normal tells us nothing about whether there may be a malignancy.

What's the MCH and MCV on the CBC.? How low is the Hgb.? What about serum iron and serum ferritin levels.? Iron deficiency anemia is very common - especially with someone who may have gastric acid related problems. There is usually a low MCV and MCH on the CBC with significant iron deficiency anemia.

The doctor who knows all of the details of your case should be explaining these findings and completing the evaluation of your symptoms. We don't even know you age. If you are a young person, a GI malignancy is not very likely. Of course the only way to be sure is to do imaging studies and/or endoscopy.Health Question & Answer

...If you continue to have symptoms you need to see a gastroenterologist and have an endoscopy. Cancer anywhere may not present with an elevated ESR. What you describe sounds like a benign condition but needs to be investigated further.Health Question & Answer
